I have used a detail of an old historic map from the 1800s as the base for this work. The map acts as a matrix for me to float and embed some of the flora and fauna I have observed or discovered from my excursions around Pegasus Bay and Banks Peninsula. Staying closer to home due to COVID-19 and spending more time exploring my local environment, has left me spoilt for choice with the incredible diversity of subject matter around us.
